We are looking for a ServiceNow Platform Solution Owner to join our team. Reporting to the Manager, Modern Digital Workplace, the ServiceNow Platform Solution Owner is responsible for defining the strategic direction and roadmap for the ServiceNow platform that aligns with enterprise goals and objectives and helping lead a cultural change for platform adoption. This role reviews and prioritizes incoming demand for the platform and oversees the technical architecture and design for change requests, ensuring risk and disruption are minimized. Additionally, this role provides guidance to specialists responsible for technical and end-user support and enablement of the platform, directs appropriate release coordination of platform changes, and works collaboratively with the platform System Administrator and other technical specialists. This role is considered the primary enterprise expert for the platform.
Key to this role is possessing a deep understanding of the platform from a functional and technical perspective, being recognized as a thought leader who influences decisions made by senior leadership, and advancing platform understanding and use across our enterprise. By maintaining a relationship with ServiceNow, this role will thoroughly understand the technology and vendor roadmap while maintaining an in-depth understanding of the platform's technical architecture, configuration, and use at Manitoba Hydro to inform our roadmap and architectural decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Understand the platform's configuration and use within Manitoba Hydro. Identify areas for improvement in line with enterprise goals and objectives.
- Thoroughly maintain a significant relationship with the platform vendor. Develop and maintain a technology roadmap for the platform in support of the enterprise goals and objectives.
- Understand the landscape of Manitoba Hydro's technology environment and collaborate with colleagues across Digital & Technology (D&T), including security, infrastructure, and operations.
- Support prioritization of new business requests, create t-shirt size estimates for new demand or features based on an understanding of the requirements, and partner with product teams to review and prioritize the backlog of features/changes specific to the platform.
- Reduce risk by designing and/or reviewing solution architecture for solutions utilizing the platform, ensuring alignment to enterprise architecture and directing proper release coordination of changes.
- Lead, oversee, and implement increasingly complex projects involving multiple systems with enterprise-wide impacts.
- Assist in triaging and supporting L3 and L4 tickets in collaboration with vendors and D&T colleagues to ensure sufficient resolution.
- Participate in business and technology governance forums as a cross-functional representative of the Digital & Technology (D&T) product teams.
- Understand and advocate for the principles of software solutions architecture and technologies for the platform they support.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships and knowledge necessary to assess the longer-term, more strategic needs of the customer.
- Provide consultative advice and expertise to colleagues throughout the organization.
- Act as a communication conduit on matters of both operational and strategic importance.
A four-year degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related disciplines from a university of recognized standing with a minimum of five years of directly applicable experience.
OR
A two-year diploma in Computer Programming Technology from an institute of recognized standing with a minimum of seven
years of directly applicable experience.
- Hands-on experience as a ServiceNow Solution Architect at an enterprise level with a proven track record in architecting and implementing enterprise solutions using the ServiceNow platform.
- Advanced proficiency of ServiceNow's data model, including designing and managing data structures within the platform, ensuring robust and secure implementations through platform governance, compliance, and risk management, and knowledge of Generative AI and the possibilities and limitations of ServiceNow GenAI within Now Assist.
- Understanding of integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, Microsoft 365, Esri) to enhance the design of comprehensive solutions.
- Relevant ServiceNow certifications and training.
- Strong familiarity with cloud services and deployment models, including ServiceNow and Microsoft Azure.
- Excellent analytical and technical skills with demonstrated experience in platform development, architecture, integration, configuration, and delivery, including building or evolving products in a complex, matrixed organization, preferably in the Power and Utilities sector.
- Strong understanding of adjacent technologies, including identity, security, endpoint management, vulnerability management, asset management, IT service management, analytics, etc.
- Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle and project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
- Ability to engage in problem analysis and the research of potential solutions while acting as a consultant to others in defining the effectiveness of proposed solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, influence and motivate others, and initiate action.
- Exceptional stakeholder partnership and collaboration; able to work across different functions and with internal and external stakeholders to understand, empathize, and bridge multiple perspectives.
- Must obtain and maintain a current Personnel Risk Assessment and a "Clear" security rating in accordance with Manitoba Hydro policy P513.
- Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Training is required and must be completed prior to the transfer date and renewed annually.
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The range for the classification is $46.99-$64.87 Hourly, $90,034.62-$124,304.18 Annually.
