Under the general direction of the IT Asset Management lead and working with the Hardware Management Procurement team, is responsible to assist senior staff in implementing activities related to Information Technology (IT) asset management, ensuring adherence to established IT asset management processes, policies, and standards. This includes the assessment, ordering and fulfillment of client computer hardware requests. Produce and maintain process documentation for procurement and related activities. Contribute to client computer hardware standards, policies, develop and maintain reports, and assist in identifying process improvement opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Review, assess, order, and fulfill computer equipment requests, imaging device requests and moves, placing orders using established and new standards and ordering systems.
- Document processes and procedures related to asset management and procurement processes.
- Assist with identifying, planning, and implementing process improvement activities to improve overall timeframes to fulfill client requests.
- Contribute to maintaining the integrity of data in the ServiceNow system by assisting with data updates and validation, correlating data from a variety of resources.
- Assist with developing and maintaining reports utilizing data from a variety of database sources.
- Participate in the analysis of reports and data for product and computer model forecasts.
- Assist with product transitions, working with Client Technology Planning to document technology roadmaps.
- Assist with administration and physical inventory management of bulk inventory computers and computer related equipment.
- Provide exceptional customer service, assisting employees with computer equipment requests and inquiries.
- Establish and maintain client relationships and with ITS client support areas such as Client Support and Client Technology Planning and with vendors who provide computer related services for Manitoba Hydro.
- Adhere to established, and participate in the development and documentation of, standards for computers and computer related equipment.
Qualifications:
- A four-year degree in Computer Science from a university of recognized standing and two years of directly related experience; preferably in computer asset management and procurement.
OR - A two-year Diploma in Computer Programming/Electrical Technology from an Institute of recognized standing and four years of directly related experience; preferably in computer asset management processes and procurement.
- Analytical skills to fulfill hardware requests taking into consideration the requirements and current standards.
- Experience using ServiceNow, specifically the HAM module.
- Proven experience with SAP, MS Office 365, specifically Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with proven customer service and client support skills.
- Excellent organizational skills to facilitate the coordination and completion of varying requests.
- Capable of clear, concise oral and written communications tailored to audiences at a variety of levels.
- Experience with developing, writing, and publishing documented processes and procedures.
- Experience with tools and utilities such as Kixlog, MyST, SCCM, and Flexera.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Possess a valid Province of Manitoba Driver's Licence.
- Must obtain and maintain a current Personnel Risk Assessment and a "Clear" security rating in accordance with Manitoba Hydro policy P513.
- Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Training is required and must be completed prior to transfer date and renewed annually.
Salary Range
This is a Progressive classification (Support Specialist I-II). Classification and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
- Support Specialist I $27.88-$37.36 Hourly / $53,425.06-$71,594.90 Annually
- Support Specialist II $34.80-$48.16 Hourly / $66,691.04-$92,279.98 Annually
