Solution Architect
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Salary Range: $80,826.48 to $109,353.48
Location: 205 Henlow Bay
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (35 hours/week)
Reporting to the Senior IT Project Manager, the Solution Architect (SA) role is responsible for providing technical solution design and guidance for MITT’s business systems, data, and systems integrations. They will support the Software Development and project teams in understanding the current state of the IT environment and designing the future state. The SA will develop an understanding of MITT’s existing IT infrastructure while actively searching for improvement areas. This role will also streamline workflows by implementing inventive technical solutions, engaging with stakeholders to provide solutions to business problems and evaluate existing and emerging technologies.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop MITT’s solution architecture and design for systems with the goal of reducing ’s technology footprint and promoting system “re-use”.
- Develop conceptual and detailed application architectures and designs by identifying the technologies required and the interfaces and linkages between the solution components.
- Design solutions that comply with architectural standards, and with legislative and regulatory requirements regarding data protection and privacy.
- Lead the analysis and solution architecture in support of project and operational needs.
- Mentor software developers and implement best practices.
- Lead release management and DevOps processes.
- Manage and lead the intake of all software development requests. Monitor tickets and enforce SLAs.
- Analyze system changes including Impact on resources, priorities, and other MITT system.
- Maintain Software Development process and procedures documentation.
- Identify potential technology solutions (internal and external) for MITT department needs/problems.
- Ensures MITT technology solutions adhere to MITT architecture and security requirements.
- Assist MITT with Transition to Production (T2P) and Transition to Support (T2S) processes and documentation.
- Liaison with MITT IT and other departments on project tasks.
- Act as technology lead for ERP implementation and support.
- Other related duties as assigned.
A combination of related education and experience may be considered.
- A bachelor's degree, usually in computer science, computer programming, or software engineering; or a minimum of 2+ years of education related to computer programming.
- 5+ years progressive experience in an information technology domain such as system analysis, architecture, IT operations, and infrastructure.
- 5+ years advanced level domain experience (e.g. networks, applications, information security, management, etc.)
- Experience working in an educational institute.
Conditions of Employment:
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record check including vulnerable sector and Child Abuse Registry Check.
