Payments in Canada: What's on the Horizon?

The Global Payments industry has been undergoing unprecedented change during the last decade, driven by both regulatory measures and technological advances. To remain globally competitive, Canadian businesses and the Canadian payments landscape must adapt to keep pace. This session will outline the key regulatory initiatives currently underway in Canada, the impact they are having on our Payments ecosystem, and the resulting evolving business models.


About the Speaker
Vince Devine is an IBM Distinguished Engineer and has been working in the Banking Industry since 2000.  Specific to Payments, he has provided consulting and system design guidance to the major Canadian banks since 2007, and more recently has been advising on the implications of the Payments Canada Modernization program for financial institutions and participants in the payments ecosystem in Canada.  Vince is currently the IBM Canada CTO for Financial Services, and the IBM CTO for Royal Bank of Canada.
