About the speakers
Eddie Phillips is a Cybersecurity Evangelist, with over 25 years of IT industry experience in Enterprise and SMB environments. Eddie’s vision of taking the mystery out of cybersecurity and shining a light on how organizations can thrive in this world where cybercrime is commonplace is evident through his dynamic presentation style. Eddie is thrilled to share stories, teach best practices and connect with companies to help protect them from the evils of cybercrime.
Kathy Knight is the Executive Director of the Cyber Security Centre of Excellence at the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology (MITT). She is the former CEO of Tech Manitoba and for more than a decade has brought her a remarkable blend of subject matter expertise, leadership skills and relationship-building ability and grew Tech Manitoba into the leading voice of the ICT industry in this province.
The advancements Kathy has orchestrated over the past couple of decades in Manitoba’s ICT sector have made her one of its most recognized and respected thought leaders and ambassadors—locally, nationally, and abroad.

MITT will be home to Western Canada’s leading technical training environment for cyber security professionals and a catalyst for innovation within the sector.
