Special Keynote: Creating Billion Dollar Opportunities in the Prairies

Immediately following the AGM, we are pleased to welcome Chris Simair, Managing Director of Venture Builder at Harvest Builders and Andrew Chau, CEO and Co-Founder of Neo Financial, for a special keynote: Creating Billion-Dollar Opportunities in the Prairies. Moderated by Eleanor Coopsammy, Economic Development Winnipeg.

Chris Simair leads Harvest Builders as Managing Director after having successfully co-founded SkipTheDishes, which from its early beginnings in Saskatoon grew to over 130 markets, and a network of over 4 million Canadians and 25,000 restaurant partners. Chris, along with his founding team, led Skip to one of Western Canada’s largest exits in 2016 to Just Eat, a publicly traded company based in the UK, and remained the CEO of SkipTheDishes as they continued to expand to over 2,500 employees and a valuation of over $5 billion dollars.

Andrew Chau is the CEO and co-founder of Neo Financial, Canada’s first digital banking platform designed to support local businesses while providing Canadians a better way to grow and manage their money. Founded in 2019, Neo Financial has raised more than $114 million in funding through top-tier investors like Peter Thiel’s Valar Ventures, has grown to over 400 employees, and has been recognized as one of top tech startups in Canada. Prior to starting Neo, Andrew was a co-founder of SkipTheDishes. Since its founding in 2012 to today, Skip has become an iconic Top 10 brand in Canada with over 6M customers, $3.5bn in annual sales, over 3,000 employees based in Canada.
