Michael is an IT Security Leader with over two decades of experience in building and leading Information Security, Cyber-Risk and compliancy programs at the enterprise level.
Michael’s previous work includes serving as Head of Information Security for large utility company and numerous Senior InfoSec and Cyber-Risk roles in Oil & Gas, Energy, Financial Services, Telecommunications and Manufacturing sectors. Today, Michael provides Cyber-security and Cyber-risk consulting and guidance to numerous companies.
Michael is an active member of the security community where he serves on two boards including (ISC)² Alberta and Security Professionals Information Exchange (SPIE).
Michael Legary is a Canadian serial entrepreneur with experience in a wide range of industries, specializing in corporate governance, enterprise architecture, innovation and risk management.
Michael has focused much of his career on information assurance, founding, leading and exiting several security, technology, and defence research companies over the past twenty-five years. He is the recipient of numerous business awards, including the CBC Manitoba’s Future 40 award, and an E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year Award for his entrepreneurial endeavors within the Information Security industry. He is a past Chair of the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on public and private sector boards from a governance, risk management and innovation perspective.
